Alexander “Sandy” Spaulding

Chief Financial Officer and EVP Corporate Development

Mr. Spaulding serves as the Chief Financial Officer and EVP of Corporate Development for CorVant. He is responsible for management of the company's financial plan as well as developing the company's sales objectives and strategy. Sandy brings a unique and diverse combination of business management, legal expertise and marine industry experience to CorVant.

Prior to joining CorVant in 2011, he was the President and Managing General Partner of Sea Glass Capital, a financial advisory firm he founded in 2005 which ­focused almost exclusively on the marine industry issues. Clients included ­diverse marine companies from Correct Craft and Intrepid PowerBoats in Florida, to Island Global Yachting in New York City, to City Marina and Boatyard in Charleston, SC, to the is country's premier superyacht builder, Hodgdon Yachts, in Maine.

Prior to forming Sea Glass Capital, Sandy spent 8 years developing The Hinckley Company into one of America's great brands. Hinckley is America's premier builder of semi custom sail and power yachts and is also one of the largest yacht service and refit companies in the United States. In various roles, including as President of Hinckley Yachts and EVP and CFO of the parent company, Hinckley Holdings, Sandy was instrumental in helping Hinckley grow from under $25 million in annual sales and 175 employees to over $100 million in annual sales and 700 employees in four years.

Immediately prior to joining Hinckley, Mr. Spaulding was a Partner with the private equity firm of Bain Willard Companies of Boston where he was responsible for acquisition and financing. Sandy has been active in numerous non-profit institutions in the Boston and ­Portland, Maine areas including the New England Aquarium and Children's Hospital and is a Board Member of the leading private elementary and college preparatory school in Maine and was Vice President of a private secondary school in ­Massachusetts. He is also a Board Member and Co-Founder of Maine Built Boats, Inc, a non-profit focused on promoting the Maine boat building industry.

Sandy graduated from Georgetown University and Boston University School of Law.
